Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, building operations, housekeeping, or a related field.
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, structural repairs, HVAC systems, and general maintenance practices.
Familiarity with applicable regulations, safety standards, and proper handling of biohazardous waste.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and report unusual conditions to the Executive Director.
Valid Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance, including light electrical, painting, carpentry, HVAC operation, and equipment repairs.
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and resident comfort.
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment records.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, OSHA, fire safety, and assisted living/memory care regulations.
Monitor safety programs, emergency systems, MSDS documentation, and respond to emergencies as needed.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of the community, including common areas, furniture setup, and event support.
Manage department budgets, invoices, purchased services, and overtime usage.
Supervise contractors, maintenance, and housekeeping staff to ensure quality performance.
Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate department employees.
Conduct staff meetings, training sessions, and annual performance reviews.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and complete required documentation and reports.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
