Requirements

  • Have a thorough understanding of housekeeping, laundry and floorcare practices within the State of employment.
  • Must possess managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to maintain budgets, records and reports.
  • The possession of personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel.
  • The ability to get along with departments as a Team Player.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the Housekeeping, Laundry and Floorcare Departments in order to provide a clean, safe and sanitary environment for the residents, staff and visitors of the facility.
  • Ensuring that a successful housekeeping program is maintained at all times and that housekeeping is in compliance with ISDH survey regulations.
  • Ensuring that housekeeping, laundry and floorcare tasks are being carried out according to policy/procedure and that they are meeting quality assurance standards of the facility.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, interviewing and selection of housekeeping, laundry and floorcare personnel.
  • Preparing written employee performance evaluations and making recommendations for salary increases, terminations and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintaining knowledge of State and Federal regulations for housekeeping/environmental issues for in-servicing purposes.
  • Maintaining and complying with department budgets and being prudent with the ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining Floorcare Schedule.
  • Disposing of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
