About The Position

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital in Auburn Hills, Michigan, providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults. The Environmental Services Custodian is a team member responsible for keeping the facility and grounds clean, orderly, and sanitary. The role works under the supervision of the Director of Plant Operations and is full-time, with days or afternoons, 8-hour shifts, and every other weekend.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial work experience preferred.
• Internal applicants must be in good standing, including employment and corrective action history and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service nursing units, patient rooms, baths, bathrooms, and business offices.
• Clean and mop floors.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Clean windows and window sills.
• Empty trash baskets and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Use necessary equipment and supplies properly to complete job tasks.
• Identify unclean areas and take action to ensure hospital cleaning standards are met.
• Use initiative and judgment to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Prepare soiled linen for pickup by the contract laundry.
