About The Position

UPMC East is hiring full-time Environmental Services Associates for day, afternoon, and evening shifts. The role cleans assigned areas—including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment—to meet hospital and department standards and promote a quality care environment. Duties also include moving equipment, furniture, and boxes, and removing and hanging blinds and curtains. Associates follow established cleaning procedures and safety and sanitation regulations, maintain equipment, and report problems to a supervisor. The position includes rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities. Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties successfully.
Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
Act 34 clearance.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment according to established procedures.
Make beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
Inspect assigned areas to ensure they are clean and in good repair, and report problems to the supervisor.
Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned areas.
Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
Remove trash from assigned areas.
Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; wash walls; spot carpets; and perform related tasks as assigned.
Remove and hang blinds and curtains.
