About The Position

UPMC is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Environmental Services Associate to work in its Environmental Services Float Pool across multiple hospital campuses in Oakland, including UPMC Mercy, Montefiore, Magee-Womens Hospital, Presbyterian, and Shadyside. The role helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors while working across different hospital settings and teams. The position is on the evening second shift, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties successfully.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• Act 34 clearance.
• May work in rooms where medications are stored; contact with medications is not allowed.

Responsibilities

• Make beds and follow established cleaning procedures in assigned patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms.
• Remove trash from assigned areas.
• Inspect assigned areas to ensure they are properly cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Clean assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in assigned areas.
• Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; wash walls and spot carpets as assigned.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and in working condition, and report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
