About The Position

Responsible for preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses. This role maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, following organizational procedures, schedules, and infection control guidelines. The position is onsite at North Shore Medical Center, Inc., and is per diem on the day shift.

Requirements

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply them safely.
Working knowledge of cleaning tools such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
0–1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning duties according to organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.
Remove waste streams.
Clean and service assigned areas according to established procedures.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies within Medical Center departments, and perform cleaning duties to keep the hospital neat, orderly, and sanitary.
Operate assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
Participate in at least eight unit or department meetings annually.
Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
