About The Position

Housekeeping is more than a cleaning job at Lutheran Life Villages. As a housekeeper (EVS Assistant) at Lutheran Life Villages, you will be responsible for engaging with residents while providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment they will enjoy. The Environmental Services department is also responsible for providing services associated with laundry work to meet the campus needs as well.

  • Ability to maintain common areas, offices, employee/resident lounges, public bathrooms and hallways in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ability to dust mop/spot mop all common areas and hallways as assigned.
  • Ability to clean bathrooms, including washing, sanitizing, and/or polishing bathroom fixtures, and maintaining/refilling supplies.
  • Ability to discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
  • Ability to clean/polish water fountains; stock/re-stock drinking cups.
  • Ability to vacuum lounge areas; organize magazines/reading materials; ensure order.
  • Ability to damp dust/high dust all furniture, sills, ledges and handrails.
  • Ability to monitor ceiling tiles, walls, handrails, floors, vents and baseboards; write maintenance requisition for repairs.
  • Ability to wash and replace dining room table cloths.
  • Ability to ensure work areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times.
  • Ability to make residents’ beds daily; replace with clean sheets weekly.
  • Ability to clean shower curtains removing soil and mildew.
  • Ability to clean windows/mirrors in assigned areas.
  • Ability to vacuum carpets and spot clean needed areas.
  • Ability to remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces.
  • Ability to clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc., ensuring appropriate caution or safety signs are set up.
  • Ability to clean walls by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting or deodorizing, etc.
  • Ability to clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in all areas of facility as instructed.
  • Ability to perform terminal/discharge cleaning as instructed.
  • Ability to clean vacant rooms as assigned.
  • Ability to transport soiled linen to laundry room.
  • Ability to sort soiled linens.
  • Ability to operate washer and dryer.
  • Ability to fold clean laundry.
  • Ability to transport clean laundry from laundry room to hall storage areas, deliver clean linen and clothing to specified areas.
  • Ability to ensure adequate supply of linen on halls.
  • Ability to organize hall linen closets.
  • Ability to wash resident’s laundry as requested.
  • Ability to tumble/fluff draperies.
  • Ability to search for missing clothing/items.
  • Ability to clean surfaces of machines.
  • Ability to clean dryer vents.
  • Ability to discard worn out or unusable items.
  • Ability to clean walls in soiled linen room.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains facility and resident halls in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Provides services associated with laundry work to meet establishment needs.
  • Maintains common areas, offices, employee/resident lounges, public bathrooms and hallways in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Dust mops/spot mops all common areas and hallways as assigned.
  • Cleans bathrooms, including washing, sanitizing, and/or polishing bathroom fixtures, and maintaining/refilling supplies.
