About The Position

Housekeeping is more than a cleaning job at Lutheran Life Villages. As a housekeeper (EVS Assistant) at Lutheran Life Villages, you will be responsible for engaging with residents while providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment they will enjoy. The Environmental Services department is also responsible for providing services associated with laundry work to meet the campus needs as well.

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain common areas, offices, employee/resident lounges, public bathrooms and hallways in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Must be able to dust mop/spot mop all common areas and hallways as assigned.
  • Must be able to clean bathrooms.
  • Must be able to wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
  • Must be able to assure water marks are removed.
  • Must be able to maintain/refill supplies.
  • Must be able to discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
  • Must be able to clean/polish water fountains; stock/re-stock drinking cups.
  • Must be able to vacuum lounge areas; organize magazines/reading materials; ensure order.
  • Must be able to damp dust/high dust all furniture, sills, ledges and handrails.
  • Must be able to monitor ceiling tiles, walls, handrails, floors, vents and baseboards; write maintenance requisition for repairs.
  • Must be able to wash and replace dining room table cloths.
  • Must assure work areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times and at end of shift.
  • Must be able to perform housekeeping/cleaning functions.
  • Must be able to make residents’ beds daily; replace with clean sheets weekly.
  • Must be able to clean shower curtains removing soil and mildew.
  • Must be able to clean windows/mirrors in assigned areas.
  • Must be able to vacuum carpets and spot clean needed areas.
  • Must be able to remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces.
  • Must be able to clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc.
  • Must assure appropriate caution or safety signs are set up prior to performing such duties.
  • Must be able to clean walls by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting or deodorizing, etc.
  • Must be able to clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in all areas of facility as instructed.
  • Must be able to perform terminal/discharge cleaning as instructed.
  • Must be able to clean vacant rooms as assigned.
  • Must be able to transport soiled linen to laundry room.
  • Must be able to sort soiled linens.
  • Must be able to operate washer and dryer.
  • Must be able to fold clean laundry.
  • Must be able to transport clean laundry from laundry room to hall storage areas, deliver clean linen and clothing to specified areas.
  • Must be able to ensure adequate supply of linen on halls.
  • Must be able to organize hall linen closets.
  • Must be able to wash resident’s laundry as requested.
  • Must be able to tumble/fluff draperies.
  • Must be able to search for missing clothing/items.
  • Must be able to clean surfaces of machines.
  • Must be able to clean dryer vents.
  • Must be able to discard worn out or unusable items.
  • Must be able to clean walls in soiled linen room.

Responsibilities
