About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, a member of the Cleveland Clinic Health System serving communities in and around Stark County. The Environmental Services Department is a high-performing healthcare EVS team. In this role, you will help maintain a comfortable and safe environment for patients. The position can be a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments. The role includes one to three months of on-the-job training in departmental policies and procedures, cleaning techniques, and the proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Requirements

Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Ability to perform work involving full-body motion, including lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
Ability to walk and stand continuously on hard surfaces.
Ability to regularly handle and use disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
Ability to exert 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms, and other assigned areas.
Use appropriate cleaning products to wipe down surfaces, clean spills, empty garbage cans, clean furniture, and complete other assigned tasks.
Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, and restrooms.
Follow departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
Follow hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
Complete on-the-job training in departmental policies and procedures, cleaning techniques, and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
