About The Position

Cleveland Clinic is hiring Environmental Services Area Cleaners and Floor Technicians to help maintain a comfortable, safe environment for patients. The role is part of the Environmental Services Department, whose team is described as one of the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare. This position can serve as a steppingstone to other careers in Environmental Services, including Team Lead, Supervisor, and Manager, or to roles in other Cleveland Clinic departments.

Schedules offered include days (7:00 AM–3:30 PM), afternoons/evenings (2:00 PM–10:30 PM), evenings/nights (3:00 PM–11:30 PM), and late evenings (4:00 PM–12:30 AM). Employees must be able to work every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday. New hires complete one to three months of on-the-job training covering departmental policies and procedures, cleaning techniques, and the proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Requirements

• Must be able to work every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday.
• Comply with the hospital influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption.
• Use personal protective equipment as required by standard precautions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms, and other assigned areas.
• Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, and restrooms.
• Follow scripting, policies, and procedures for patient isolation and Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
• Follow hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Complete on-the-job training in departmental policies and procedures, cleaning techniques, and the proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
