About The Position

Kindred Hospital Seattle – First Hill is an 80-bed long-term acute care hospital in downtown Seattle. The Environmental Services Aide cleans and services hospital areas, moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, and performs environmental services duties to help maintain a neat, safe, and sanitary facility. The role includes preparing cleaning solutions, transporting supplies, cleaning patient and common areas, maintaining restrooms, handling trash and potentially hazardous waste, and managing linens and furniture as needed.

Requirements

Must read, write, and speak fluent English to comprehend instructions for cleaning materials.
Must have good and regular attendance.
Good interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent, including equivalent education or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role (preferred).
Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Select cleaning materials and supplies, prepare cleaning solutions, and transport a stocked service cart to work areas.
Clean assigned areas, including walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient televisions, and equipment, using germicidal cleaning solutions.
Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and spot-clean carpets with appropriate solutions.
Clean restrooms, vanity areas, showers, and commodes; maintain sanitary, odor-free conditions and replenish essentials.
Collect and remove trash, and sanitize garbage cans and the compactor area.
May collect and transport hazardous waste in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal.
May collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen.
Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs.
Return unused supplies to the janitor closet and keep supplies orderly.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
