Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees, patients, and guests in accordance with departmental standards.
- Adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects.
- Apply specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues.
- Deliver clean linens to patient rooms.
- Consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control while following safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
- Be reliable, have attention to detail, be flexible to take on additional tasks, timely report maintenance issues, and have a proactive approach to responding to emergencies and supporting a safe, healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Provides daily patient room cleaning, including trash removal, high and low dusting, dust mopping, mopping, bathroom cleaning and replenishing dispensers.
- Provides discharge patient room cleaning including trash removal, sanitizing furniture, high and low dusting, wall washing, the stripping, cleaning and making of the bed and replenishing supplies.
- Cleans common areas and provides routine corridor cleaning in assigned area.
- Follows the hospital and department policies and procedures to perform cleaning of support areas (offices, supply areas, nurses' stations, waiting areas, utility rooms, etc.).
- Maintains adequate supplies for standard precautions and properly utilizes isolation techniques.
- Handles biohazardous waste properly including the changing of sharps containers.
