About The Position
GMG Sayre is seeking a Per Diem Housekeeper to join our dedicated team serving Sayre, PA and nearby communities. As a Housekeeper in our Environmental Services team, you play a vital part in creating a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff. Your work directly supports Guthrie’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the region. Housekeepers ensure a clean, safe, and aseptic environment across inpatient, outpatient, and office areas. This role supports patient care by performing cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and equipment maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service. Requirements
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in housekeeping helpful.
- High school graduate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, vacuum, wash walls, wash windows, dust, mop floors, damp dust furniture.
- Pick up trash and transport to designated areas.
- Keep equipment, carts, and janitor closets clean on a daily basis.
- Determine the dilution ratio of germicidal cleaning solutions.
- Shows initiative in learning and developing skills in use of all equipment in the department.
- Assists in the orientation of new employees in the department.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
- Demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as required.
- Demonstrates effective time management.
- Takes initiative in doing extra work within areas of responsibility such as spot clean walls, baseboards, etc.
