About The Position

The Environmental Service Worker performs cleaning and facility-support tasks in accordance with established procedures. Duties include cleaning a range of surfaces and fixtures, maintaining floors, replenishing restroom supplies, handling linen and waste, and moving furniture and equipment as needed. The role also supports meeting and event setup and cleanup and performs related duties as required. This is a FlexStaff temporary position. The posting describes a salary range and/or hourly rate as a good-faith estimate of potential base compensation; compensation may be adjusted and may depend on factors such as location, relevant experience, education, credentials, contracts, budget, and internal equity.

Requirements

Communicate effectively in English, both speaking and reading.
Demonstrated competency using buffing and scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners, and extractor machines.
Demonstrated competency using a Sani-Pak and cardboard baling machine.
Able to lift and carry 15 pounds.
Able to ambulate, walk up and down stairs, and repeatedly bend at the knees during a shift while performing cleaning duties.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least one year of experience in an industrial or hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning functions according to established procedures and in a timely manner.
Use properly labeled cleaning supplies as instructed.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and use supplies economically.
Clean beds, blinds, ceilings, light fixtures, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, walls, windows, wall tiles, vents, televisions, and other listed areas or fixtures.
Wash and hang draperies and cubicle curtains.
Wash and polish furniture and metal.
Sweep walkways and the facility’s outside perimeter where applicable.
Sweep, mop, strip, scrub, vacuum, and buff floors.
Replenish liquid soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
Move furniture within the facility, and to outside storage when requested and applicable.
Distribute clean linen carts and collect soiled linen for delivery to the linen department.
Collect garbage, clean and reline trash receptacles, and transport and dispose of non-infectious waste appropriately.
Carefully deposit infectious-waste Red Bags in the holding cart; transport Red-Bag waste to the Sani-Pak area and operate the Sani-Pak receptacle.
Move and replace furniture as needed for carpet installations, floor stripping, sealing or waxing, department relocations, and other required work.
Set up and break down tables, chairs, lecture podiums, and related items according to specifications.
Remove trash before setting up the next function or meeting.
Perform related duties as required.
