About The Position

The Environmental Service Worker maintains a safe and sanitary environment for visitors, patients, and employees at Virtua Health. The role cleans and maintains facilities, handles trash and regulated medical waste, distributes linen, and may set up rooms. The position is on-site at Mount Holly, 175 Madison Avenue, on the first shift, and is full-time at 40 hours per week. The worker may be assigned to other facilities and may take on linen responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to speak English.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Virtua facilities as directed, including cleaning, removing trash, distributing linen, and setting up rooms.
• Maintain universal precautions to ensure patient and employee safety.
• Safely handle and dispose of regulated medical waste and other trash.
• Use chemicals properly and maintain a safe environment, including proper chemical storage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assume linen responsibilities as required.
• Work in other facilities as assigned when required.
