As an Environmental Service Specialty Technician, you will be responsible for providing basic and specialized cleaning services throughout the hospital. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and cleaning hard and soft flooring surfaces, including stairwells, hallways, and public spaces, using heavy mechanical equipment. You will also work in Specialty Units to ensure a safe care environment for patients, staff, and visitors by applying cleaning, disinfecting, and quality assurance principles to reduce pathogens. This role may also involve duties of an Environmental Services Technician.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Floor care experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the hospital, with a primary focus on floor care and specialized cleaning in various hospital units.
  • Perform all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting, stripping and waxing floor surfaces.
  • Perform project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs, such as conference room set up/dismantle, cleaning of stairwells and elevators, and hanging of cubicle curtains.
  • Clean and disinfect specialty units & equipment, including areas such as Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, Mental Health, and Burn Unit.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the specialty environment.
