Responsibilities
- Provide basic and specialized cleaning services throughout the hospital.
- Maintain and clean hard and soft flooring surfaces, including stairwells, hallways, and public spaces, using heavy mechanical equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, polishers, extractors, and wet vacuuming equipment.
- Work in Specialty Units, providing a safe care environment for patients, staff, and visitors within specialty areas (surgical services/perioperative suite, cath lab, endoscopy, etc.) by demonstrating principles of cleaning, disinfecting, and quality assurance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the hospital, with a primary focus on floor care and specialized cleaning in various hospital units.
- Complete assigned floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting, stripping and waxing floor surfaces.
- Perform project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs, such as conference room set up/dismantle, cleaning of stairwells and elevators, and hanging of cubicle curtains.
- Clean and disinfect specialty units & equipment, including areas such as Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, Mental Health, and Burn Unit.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the specialty environment tasked with servicing.
