About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), Division of Water Supply Protection's Quabbin/Ware Region seeks applicants for the position of Environmental Services Specialist III. This role involves keeping buildings in a clean and orderly condition, maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of floors, washing interior building surfaces, maintaining grounds around buildings, emptying waste receptacles, and moving furniture. The essential purpose of this work is to provide cleaning and maintenance services to ensure that assigned premises are appropriately cleaned and maintained. Duties include performing cleaning functions such as waxing floors, window washing, waste removal, and cleaning restrooms. Incumbents will also wash interior surfaces like walls and ceilings, and perform outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, and removing snow and ice. Additionally, they will conduct inspection tours to ensure buildings and appurtenances are properly secured and that standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness are maintained. Related duties include requisitioning supplies and equipment, maintaining records, preparing reports, and setting up meeting rooms as requested.

Requirements

• At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in building custodial or institution housekeeping work.
• Of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Set up meeting rooms as requested in the reservation calendar.
• Other related duties as assigned.
