About The Position

RVE (an Ardurra company) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in the Lehigh Valley, PA area. Our Environmental Services team helps public and private clients navigate the environmental challenges associated with property acquisition, development, redevelopment, and infrastructure improvements. From initial environmental due diligence through investigation, remediation, permitting, and regulatory closure, our multidisciplinary professionals deliver practical, technically sound solutions that support successful project outcomes while protecting public health and the environment. Our environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) work across a wide range of projects involving Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, hazardous materials investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, underground storage tank closures, indoor air quality assessments, and site remediation. Working alongside civil engineering professionals, the team also supports land development, stormwater management, subsurface investigations, and conceptual site planning, providing early-career professionals with broad technical experience and mentorship across multiple environmental and engineering disciplines. The Environmental Scientist will support a wide range of environmental due diligence, site investigation, and land development projects from initial assessments through remediation and project completion. Working alongside experienced environmental and civil engineering professionals, this role offers hands-on field and office experience across multiple technical disciplines while supporting clients through every stage of the development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • 0-2 years of prior work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking. and judgement capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of computer aided design software such as AutoCAD or InRoads

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental due diligence, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Conduct field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, subsurface investigations, and underground storage tank (UST) removals and closures
  • Complete hazardous materials surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, mold, and indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments
  • Collect, document, and analyze environmental field data while preparing technical reports, remediation documentation, and project deliverables
  • Assist with conceptual site planning, municipal ordinance reviews, stormwater management, and drainage calculations
  • Support land surveying, utility locating, and existing building assessments, including structural and MEP evaluations
  • Coordinate and oversee field activities performed by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, and project managers to deliver environmental and land development projects from investigation through remediation and regulatory closure
  • Utilize underground Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and utility mark outs to support safe excavations and assess subsurface site conditions
