We are seeking a Mid-Level Scientist/Ecology to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Your role will involve providing project task schedules, including required ecology documentation and permits, and prioritizing them based on project baseline schedules. You will also provide project status updates in meetings and via a tracking database. This position focuses on the evaluation of impacts from transportation projects on the natural environment. You will coordinate with design professionals and the overall project team to ensure accurate depiction of natural resources on construction plans and to identify opportunities for avoiding and minimizing potential impacts. Responsibilities include performing and potentially leading field investigations of project sites, such as wetland and stream delineations with functional assessments according to applicable methodologies. You will also perform GPS field mapping, post-processing, and distribution of GPS-mapped resources in multiple formats. Documenting, examining, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data on projects of varying complexity and size within Georgia and the southeast is a key aspect of this role. Additionally, you will evaluate, map, and describe on-site habitats while identifying those potentially suitable to support protected species. Preparing documentation and technical reports detailing the findings of ecological surveys and coordinating with state and federal agencies are also crucial duties.
