About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Enviro Socio Permitting team in Florida. The successful candidate will support field work and associated reporting for projects across a variety of sectors, including energy, rail, and infrastructure in the southeastern United States. Projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work both collaboratively with a team of resource specialists and have the capacity to balance varying priorities and tasks to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deliverable deadlines. Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. A successful candidate can expect to work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks and teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or similar environmental discipline
2+ years of experience conducting environmental field work as well as the completion of associated reporting
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive reports/permit applications
Experience using GPS field technology
Working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours.
Excellent organizational skills; the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies; and proficiency in managing multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

Experience and proficiency in ArcGIS or ArcPro is preferred.
40-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification
Knowledge of southeast natural resources, including some experience with either wetlands, vegetation, or wildlife.

Responsibilities

Assist in environmental survey field efforts that could include ecological surveys, Phase I environmental site assessments, groundwater and surface water sampling, air testing, and construction oversight.
Collect field data using handheld global positioning system units and tablets utilizing Fulcrum, FieldMaps, Survey 123 for ArcGIS, or similar programs.
Prepare technical reports, work plans, and other environmental documents to summarize field efforts and assist environmental compliance and permitting.
