They are seeking a Field Environmental Scientist Intern to gain hands-on experience in environmental and industrial hygiene projects in the Washington, DC area. This role involves supporting experienced professionals on real-world projects, collecting field samples, assisting with investigations, and contributing to technical reports. The internship is part-time, requiring availability on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET at a client site. Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or a related field of study
- Basic environmental science knowledge
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Awareness of safety standards and practices
- Good record keeping
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
Responsibilities
- Work in the field supporting environmental and Industrial Hygiene projects
- Could be involved with stormwater sampling primarily, but could also be involved with mold sampling, wastewater sampling as well as other project work
- Write technical reports
- Take direction from supervisor to perform various field duties
- Actively develop your own career growth
