The Watershed Assessment and Management Section oversees the health of the state’s surface water resources and takes actions to protect and improve water quality for aquatic life and human use. The primary responsibilities include conducting stream habitat assessments and biological assessments involving the collection and identification of benthic macroinvertebrates; performing freshwater mussel surveys; and collecting, managing, analyzing, and interpreting water quality data. The position also assists with the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of aquatic habitat restoration projects and related field activities. The position works collaboratively with program staff, other agencies, stakeholders, and project partners to support the assessment, protection, and restoration of Delaware's aquatic resources.
