The mission of the Environmental Scientist is to perform a variety of environmental services, provide environmental assessments, reports, and evaluations for environmental projects.

Requirements

  • BS degree in environmental science with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare scope and fee proposals for new project opportunities and review with client to gain approval.
  • Maintain communication with the client during project.
  • Maintain client satisfaction through project follow-up after project completion.
  • Seek potential supplementary consulting services with existing clients.
  • Perform field work and prepare environmental reports.
  • Prepare basic environmental reports.
  • Provide support in department protocols, guidelines, and standards with regards to environmental reports.
  • Perform field work in compliance with company safety policies.
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the preparation of project deliverables according to the planned direct labor and expense budgets outlined by the Project Manager or Practice Leader.
  • Review detailed plans, specifications, and estimates of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
  • Be cognizant of task budgets and schedules within project requirements.
  • Track project expenses for project field supplies and reimbursables.
  • Efficiently manage time towards completion of assignments within schedule and budget.
  • Successfully achieve the financial goals set forth for your position (quality work within project budgets, direct labor hours, etc.).
  • Successfully achieve metrics defined by your supervisor for skills development, knowledge acquisition, and personal growth (i.e., new software, conferences, certifications, licensure, etc.).
  • Actively pursue and participate in professional activities.
  • Complete professional development as assigned.
  • Successfully maintain CEUs and licensure as assigned/required.
