About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist, Geologist, EHS Technician for our Hartford, CT office. Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Geology, Engineering, or related scientific field
  • 2-7 years of experience in EHS compliance or consulting
  • Strong data management and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including Word and Excel
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel frequently for field assignments (local travel 30-40% of the time, regional travel with some overnight stays)
  • Experience with multimedia environmental sampling methods
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with on-site safety inspections/audits, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces and JSAs
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large industries, federal facilities, or superfund sites is a plus
  • Certification for Asbestos and Lead Inspector is a plus
  • Professional registration, certification, GIS, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and submitting regulatory reports in addition to documentation (e.g. EPCRA Tier 2 and Form R, etc.)
  • Gathering, organizing, summarizing, and reporting environmental and/or health and safety data for our clients
  • Conducting site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and identify corrective actions
  • Developing and delivering EHS training programs
  • Conducting site investigation activities including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials
  • Conducting personal and area industrial hygiene surveys
  • Performing risk assessments addressing process hazards
  • Preparing field documentation and writing technical reports
  • Supporting customer compliance with EHS regulations and standards
