About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist, Geologist, EHS Technician for our Hartford, CT office. Requirements

Minimum of a BS in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Geology, Engineering, or related scientific field
2-7 years of experience in EHS compliance or consulting
Strong data management and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including Word and Excel
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to travel frequently for field assignments (local travel 30-40% of the time, regional travel with some overnight stays)
Experience with multimedia environmental sampling methods
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with on-site safety inspections/audits, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces and JSAs
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience with large industries, federal facilities, or superfund sites is a plus
Certification for Asbestos and Lead Inspector is a plus
Professional registration, certification, GIS, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus

Responsibilities

Preparing and submitting regulatory reports in addition to documentation (e.g. EPCRA Tier 2 and Form R, etc.)
Gathering, organizing, summarizing, and reporting environmental and/or health and safety data for our clients
Conducting site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and identify corrective actions
Developing and delivering EHS training programs
Conducting site investigation activities including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials
Conducting personal and area industrial hygiene surveys
Performing risk assessments addressing process hazards
Preparing field documentation and writing technical reports
Supporting customer compliance with EHS regulations and standards
