This position involves collecting, preparing, and/or analyzing scientific/environmental samples or data to support environmental/engineering programs, studies, and analyses. The role requires operating, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various pieces of equipment. Work must be performed in accordance with set procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements, and is subject to audits. The Environmental Science Technician I is an entry-level position where candidates will learn and perform basic tasks under supervision, beginning to solve routine problems and understand work unit procedures. The Environmental Science Technician II requires satisfactory performance of I-level tasks and a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the job, functioning with substantial independence and potentially being assigned responsibility for small or routine projects.
