We are looking for an Environmental Services Tech II at Bethesda Butler Hospital. Candidate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across several key areas of the facility. Primary responsibilities include cleaning and servicing the Emergency Department, Sleep Studies, Physical Therapy, Inpatient Lab, and Logistics departments. Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of all equipment used and skills necessary to perform assigned tasks
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across several key areas of the facility, including the Emergency Department, Sleep Studies, Physical Therapy, Inpatient Lab, and Logistics departments.
  • Maintains all hard surface floors and carpet.
  • Performs wall washing, ceiling vent cleaning, and light fixture cleaning.
  • Responsible for waste removal.
  • Moves furniture, equipment, and performs room set-ups.
  • Completes assigned tasks for periodic housekeeping, including washing walls, cleaning windows, screens, blinds, cleaning and re-hanging draperies, cubicles, and privacy curtains.
  • Cleans air conditioners, vents, and lights.
  • Cleans elevators and completes other projects as assigned.
  • Completes assigned tasks related to house calls, such as replacing burnt-out lights, exchanging beds and mattresses, moving furniture, and assisting in set-ups.
  • Takes down and re-hangs draperies and cubicles.
  • Cleans all equipment used in the completion of tasks.
  • Completes assignments within specified timeframes and informs the supervisor of the need for deviation from assignments or schedules.
  • Seeks additional assignments when free time is available.
  • Follows established schedule for lunch times and breaks.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned to ensure the finished product is consistent with the level of performance defined in all other department standards.
  • Transports and disposes of solid and infectious waste following department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clean chute rooms and equipment (gondolas).
  • Performs floor care procedures including dust/wet mopping, rinsing, stripping and refinishing, buffing, carpet shampooing and extraction.
  • Operates and maintains floor care equipment.
  • Details corners and coves.
  • Uses appropriate products and adheres to necessary safety precautions.
