This role provides management support for environmental programs and the Environmental Management Representative (EMR). Key areas include hazardous materials (especially those used in support of USCG aircraft), hazardous and industrial wastes, recyclable materials, air emissions, storm water, wastewater, storage tanks, spill prevention, response, and pollution prevention and sustainability. The position involves executing and maintaining procedures to monitor environmental performance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and contributing to pollution prevention efforts. The technician will offer technical guidance on chemical topics, waste management, recycling, air emissions, wastewater, storage tanks, ISO 14001 EMS, and ODS disposal. Responsibilities also include assisting with waste stream management, recycling programs, and compliance initiatives. The role may involve transferring hazardous materials, sampling wastes, managing accumulation areas, and overseeing industrial equipment. A significant part of the role includes managing the paper and plastic recycling program and monitoring compliance with regulatory and ISO 14001 requirements.
