About The Position

Responsible for the coordination, handling, proper and timely disposal of various waste streams within the plant. This role involves maintaining waste storage areas, collecting and verifying waste, overseeing proper storage and labeling, managing storm water retention ponds, and assisting with waste shipments and truck loading. The technician must also manage rag ATMS, dispose of contaminated rags, and potentially assist with general site cleanup.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the aerosol tote storage areas (inside and outside) in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Collect remote 90-day accumulated waste areas, satellite accumulation areas (SAA), and Universal Waste at the beginning and end of the shift, and transport to the Central Accumulation Area (CAA) in Regulatory.
  • Verify the labels on waste containers for correctness and completeness.
  • Weigh waste material prior to placing it in the storage row in CAA.
  • Oversee the proper storage, labeling, marking, and sealing of containers for hazardous, non-hazardous, and special waste streams.
  • Deposit drums and manage scrap drum trailers.
  • Maintain the CAA in Regulatory and remote storage locations in a clean and orderly manner with proper aisle spacing.
  • Perform Storm Water Retention Pond duties, including daily monitoring for contamination and assisting with pond samples.
  • Inspect storage tank berms for contamination and drain areas as needed.
  • Organize and prioritize waste shipments in coordination with the EHS Manager.
  • Load waste trucks quickly and efficiently with minimal assistance.
  • Manage time effectively to complete daily requirements safely and with attention to detail.
  • Refill the rag ATMS daily and remove contaminated rags, placing them in the proper bin for vendor pickup.
  • Assist with cleaning up trash/debris from the back lot, parking lots, and around the trash compactor if time permits.
