About The Position

WSP's RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada, consisting of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. They have been providing contaminated site program management services to technically focused companies for over 15 years, maintaining a consistent backlog of 9 to 12 months and offering growth opportunities. The team specializes in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment, and remediation, undertaking major Canadian projects from coast to coast. The role involves managing contaminated downstream sites to achieve closure, utilizing team strengths to handle significant fieldwork efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in engineering or environmental sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.
  • Three years of project management experience.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
  • Understanding of the BC Environmental Management Act/Contaminated Sites Regulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Downstream experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong field experience is considered an asset.
  • Professional designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a team, working alongside Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors or Technical Leads, as well as Field Technicians, Scientists, and Engineers.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to health and safety, and steward best health and safety practices throughout projects.
  • Adopt a client-centric mindset and strive to provide excellent consulting services.
  • Create proposals and cost estimates, organize schedules for field staff and subcontractors, gather data, and write reports including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Manage project accounting and ensure tracking and reporting adhere to WSP’s Master Services Agreements.
  • Mentor junior staff on environmental protocols and conduct site inspections to uphold safety and technical standards.
  • Communicate with clients to confirm their needs are addressed and that projects and proposals proceed with high quality.
  • Support fellow members of the Remediation Program Management Group, sharing responsibilities related to health and safety, project management, completion, and client service.
