About The Position

We are actively seeking a talented Environmental Remediation Project Manager for our Albuquerque, New Mexico office, with both internal and external responsibilities across New Mexico and the broader Southwest region. Join us and make a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding remediation projects. This hybrid role (office and remote) works directly with multiple Remediation Consulting department managers to advance strategic objectives on major accounts. You will apply and further develop managerial and client development skills while performing in both technical project roles and project management roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of relevant environmental remediation experience, and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Role is subject to a background check and motor vehicle records check.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of experience in site investigation and remediation.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g., PE/PG, Chartered Engineer/Geologist, PMP).
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Track record of successfully managing environmental projects for various client types (public and private).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders; ability to support client development in the New Mexico market.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of work plans and organize project studies to meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Interface directly with the technical project manager and cross-disciplinary project teams to deliver projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Understand and incorporate client requirements, including commercial contract terms, change management processes, and financial performance KPIs.
  • Use client and AECOM-prescribed tools to track and manage the financial aspects of projects (forecasting, invoicing, cost control, earned value).
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet budgetary objectives, while proactively adjusting project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Lead internal coordination and external client communications, including progress reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong New Mexico regulatory experience is preferred (e.g., NMED programs and regional Southwest regulatory frameworks), with familiarity in permitting, compliance, and agency interfaces.
