We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Remediation Project Manager to join our Environmental Remediation team in Kenova, West Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful environmental initiatives, advance into a larger leadership role, and contribute to AECOM’s mission of delivering sustainable and innovative solutions for our clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Successful candidate will have to pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development.
  • Licensed in the State of West Virginia or nearby states (Professional Engineer or Geologist).
  • Experience working with state regulatory agencies in West Virginia or surrounding states.
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
  • Proven experience in business development.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (current), including 8-hour Supervisor training.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing environmental projects for various types of clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage environmental remediation, assessment, and oil & gas projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Apply technical knowledge to address environmental challenges, including remediation, groundwater contamination, soil treatment, waste management, and environmental compliance for oil and gas facilities, refineries, and industrial sites.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely communication regarding project updates, risks, and outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals within the local office.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and career development support to junior engineers, geologists, and project staff.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities.
  • Assist with proposal development, contract negotiations, and client presentations.
