About The Position

This role will let you support environmental progress by checking construction work that protects land, water, and communities. You will use your skills to help ensure safe, responsible, and high-quality project outcomes. Join a team that values accuracy, dedication, and environmental stewardship. This position focuses on inspecting construction work and materials to ensure compliance with permits, plans, and environmental standards. The work supports safe, accurate, and responsible completion of civil, environmental, and mine reclamation projects.

Requirements

  • Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations
  • An Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

  • Review permits, plans, and specifications to apply contract requirements during inspections
  • Accept or reject materials and workmanship based on contract standards
  • Inspect erosion and sedimentation devices and document findings in written reports
  • Check blasting activities for compliance with approved plans and safety regulations
  • Record daily project activities, quantities, and conditions using computers and digital tools
  • Investigate mine-related complaints and prepare written reports with observations and recommendations
