About The Position

Trileaf is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Scientist with 0-2 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects. This role primarily involves Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs), Phase II ESAs, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports, among other environmental assessment services. This position is available in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for remote employees, reporting to the Austin, Texas Office.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties.
• Review historical records, environmental and regulatory databases.
• Interpret compiled information and draft standardized reports in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 (AAI) for Phase I and II ESAs.
• Conduct preliminary screenings for threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), and FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for NEPA responsibilities.
• Correspond with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319.
• Interpret compiled information and prepare a template NEPA report.
• Travel to project locations, take detailed notes and photographs of sites (2-4 days per week).
• Conduct interviews, analyze government database records, and perform regulatory agency file reviews.
• Review historical data including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs.
• Draft standardized reports using information from various sources.
• Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of management and clients.
• Complete requested revisions and submit reports within pre-established timelines.
• Conduct field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air.
• Compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards.
