About The Position

Trileaf Corporation is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Scientist II, with 0 to 2 years of experience, to conduct environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects. This role involves conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs), Phase II ESAs, and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports. The position is based in our Schaumburg, Illinois office and requires candidates to work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties, including taking detailed field notes, photographs, and conducting interviews.
  • Perform regulatory agency file reviews, review historic data (topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, aerial photographs), review title/lien search reports, and environmental databases.
  • Interpret compiled information and draft standardized reports in accordance with ASTM E-1527-13 (AAI).
  • Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of management and clients within established timelines.
  • Conduct preliminary screenings of threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), and FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM).
  • Engage in correspondence with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319.
  • Interpret complied information and prepare a template NEPA report.
