Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an Environmental Project Scientist to join their Environmental team in Indianapolis, IN. This role offers a significant opportunity for career growth in environmental consulting within Intertek's Building and Construction division, which comprises industry leaders in various architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines. Intertek's project-related services include assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting, aimed at ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of new developments, existing assets, and facilities. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI), a part of Intertek, is a prominent US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services for civil and commercial construction, offering a wide range of services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Environmental Management.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in environmental site assessments, asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold assessments, Industrial Hygiene, and Wetlands.
  • State of Indiana Asbestos, Lead, or Mold Certifications.
  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training.
  • Knowledge of IH and practical environmental concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Proficiency with specific instrumentation related to sampling.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Due Diligence, and Geoscience projects.
  • Assisting with various groundwater and soil remediation efforts.
  • Performing Asbestos Inspections, Abatement Observations, and Post Abatement Assessments.
  • Conducting Lead Surveys, XRF Sampling, and Post Abatement Sampling.
  • Investigating Mold issues, performing Air Sampling, and IAQ Studies.
  • Providing Due Diligence Project Support and Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Research.
  • Documenting field findings and preparing reports.
  • Coordinating project data, records, and reports related to work assignments.
  • Participating in all appropriate QA/QC programs and Safety Programs.
  • Conducting field work to assess contaminated soil and groundwater.
  • Managing client interactions and maintaining updated data.
  • Coordinating with third-party equipment, subcontractors, and power company vendors.
