About The Position

The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing all environmental aspects of a project from initiation through completion. This role leads project teams, manages environmental tasks and budgets, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and addresses environmental constraints throughout the project lifecycle. The position also involves developing and implementing environmental policies, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring mitigation and conservation measures are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of environmental consulting experience
  • Professional Geologist; PG or Professional Engineer; PE registration/license
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting, regulations, and testing methods
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific platforms (e.g., project management, data reporting systems).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and work in diverse environmental conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and interface with clients and regulatory bodies effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in relevant inspection or testing areas preferred (e.g., ACI, ICC, ATTI, Nuclear Safety).
  • Florida Mold Assessor’s license
  • Radon Measurement Technician (or similar), Asbestos Inspector, or ability to get the certifications within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from proposal through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
  • Develop project estimates, proposals, and scopes of work in collaboration with technical and business development teams across multiple geographies
  • Coordinate and assign resources, including field technicians and support staff, to ensure project needs are met efficiently
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to manage expectations, address issues, resolve problems, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Track project financial performance, including cost control, revenue forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Ensure project alignment with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., TRRP, PST, CERCLA, RCRA, ASTM standards)
  • Perform Phase I and II ESA technical writing and fieldwork, site assessments and reporting
  • Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling using established safety protocols and appropriate sampling media and methodologies.
  • Collect field data, measurements, and samples using appropriate environmental monitoring and sampling equipment.
  • Conduct site investigations, collect and evaluate environmental data, and prepare comprehensive technical reports and project deliverables.
  • Retain and pursue applicable core environmental certifications and licenses, including mold, asbestos, lead-based paint, radon and other relevant credentials.
  • Communicate with regulatory authorities and address project-specific regulator requirements,
  • Review and approve timesheets, field reports, technical reports and client documentation; ensure accurate and timely submission of project deliverables.
  • Organize and maintain client-provided documents, project files and records for efficiant tracking and operational purposes.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and project outcomes align with client expectations.
  • Support employee development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback; participate in hiring and onboarding.
  • Ensure all project and field activities adhere to company safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with identifying add-on or follow-on work opportunities through client engagement and field visibility.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, laboratory, safety, and operational teams.
  • Proficiently use computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and client/project management or retention software systems.
  • Prepare and maintain professional documentation using proper formatting, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Maintain regular attendance and availability as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Travel throughout South Florida as required for project and client needs.
  • This is a non-remote position and requires regular on-site and field participation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
