Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, a national multi-disciplined engineering and architecture consulting firm, is currently seeking a full time Environmental Professional – Field Archaeologist to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves performing archaeological and historic architectural surveys, drafting reports and site forms, conducting environmental analyses, and delivering quality documents supporting our federal, state, local, and tribal clients under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and other applicable federal and state regulations for cultural and environmental resource management. The position will assist with archaeological fieldwork throughout the Southwest/Four Corners area and work with the Project Archaeologist to conduct cultural resource inventories. The field archaeologist or technician will assist in managing field generated data including site forms, GIS files, photos, and artifact analysis forms. They will participate as a secondary author of inventory reports and will assist with the development of resource management recommendations. Specific tasks will include cultural monitoring, completing field surveys, documenting archaeological and historic built environment resources, and preparing technical reports. Strong communication skills are required and experience with GIS is preferred. All Wilson & Company environmental staff work collaboratively with engineering professionals in a variety of disciplines across the firm to meet project goals, and with other key staff to build relationships both locally and in all states where Wilson & Company is conducting environmental project work.
