About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Professional to lead the Environmental Permitting, Wetland Delineation and Erosion & Sediment Control Inspections teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental permitting and stormwater inspections. The primary responsibility of this role is to supervise wetland and stream permitting, field assessments and erosion and sediment control inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or related field required
  • Experience with preparation of Joint Permit Applications and Nationwide Permits
  • Experience with wetland delineations
  • Experience with VA DEQ Stormwater SWPPP inspections
  • Experience supervising staff required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years’ licensed driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise preparation of environmental permits, including Joint Permit Applications (JPA), Environmental Impact Reports (EIR), NEPA, SWPPP, Wetland Delineations and SUP for Civil Engineering projects.
  • Supervise SWPPP Inspection staff, coordinate field inspections and monitor compliance with DEQ requirements.
  • Monitor permit conditions and deadlines, ensuring timely renewal and compliance reporting.
  • Offer technical guidance to project teams on environmental permitting matters.
  • Submit permit applications, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documents.
  • Travel to clients' sites for field work as needed.
  • QA/QC permits and field data
  • Prepare scopes and fees for environmental permitting, delineation and inspection projects
  • Prepare schedules and ensure equitable utilization of staff
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies during the permitting process.
  • Coordinate with external clients to ensure permits are on schedule and within scope
  • Prepare Change Orders for project scope and schedule changes.
  • Train new staff to prepare permits and perform inspections
