Environmental, Occupational, Safety, and Health (EOSH) Professional
About The Position
Leidos is seeking an Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Professional to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, under the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV). The role provides technical support for environmental compliance, construction project reviews, stormwater management, and spill response activities. The EOSH Professional supports implementation and maintenance of the MMAC Environmental Occupational Safety and Health Management System (EOSHMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. The position works with multidisciplinary teams and government stakeholders to evaluate projects and activities, identify environmental and occupational safety concerns, recommend mitigation measures, and maintain supporting technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related technical discipline with 2–4 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance, occupational safety, construction project reviews, or related EOSH programs.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety regulations.
- Ability to review construction plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to identify potential environmental and safety concerns.
- Experience conducting inspections, documenting findings, and developing recommendations to address compliance concerns.
- Strong analytical, organizational, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and government stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting environmental or occupational safety programs at federal government facilities.
- Familiarity with FAA environmental and occupational safety requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
- Experience supporting NEPA reviews and environmental evaluations for construction projects.
- Familiarity with stormwater management programs and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
- Knowledge of spill prevention, response, and environmental reporting requirements.
- Experience conducting construction site inspections and reviewing construction project documentation.
- Knowledge of construction-related environmental regulations and OSHA construction safety standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Familiarity with Oklahoma environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review construction project documentation, including engineering drawings, design analyses, specifications, and schedules, to identify potential environmental impacts and occupational safety hazards.
- Evaluate construction activities for compliance with applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations, standards, and requirements.
- Provide technical comments and recommendations during construction planning and design reviews to address environmental concerns and safety hazards.
- Coordinate, document, and track construction project reviews to ensure identified environmental and safety concerns are appropriately addressed.
- Participate in construction-related meetings, including pre-bid, preconstruction, design review, and project progress meetings.
- Conduct construction site inspections to identify potential environmental impacts and safety hazards.
- Support National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews, including evaluating construction projects and associated environmental documentation.
- Provide backup support for the MMAC Stormwater Program, including inspections, documentation, and compliance activities.
- Support spill response activities, including assessments, coordination, and documentation.
- Research and interpret applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations, technical guidance, and engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend mitigation measures for environmental and occupational safety hazards.
- Develop and maintain technical reports, inspection records, project reviews, and documentation supporting the MMAC Environmental Management System (EMS) and Health and Safety Management System (HSMS).
