The Environmental Monitor / Coordinator is a key intermediate role within Connexa Group's Environmental Division, responsible for environmental monitoring and coordination on construction, mining, hydro, and pipeline projects. This role also participates as a Resource Specialist in biophysical assessment, wildlife, and fisheries work, acting as Field Lead as required, and provides mentorship to junior field staff. The position involves a hybrid work environment, with approximately 30% office work and 70% field work. Field shifts typically range from 2–10 days, with longer shifts possible, requiring overnight stays in hotels or camps. Projects are generally located in Central or Southern Alberta, with potential travel to other parts of Western Canada. The role requires leading environmental monitoring activities on active construction sites, liaising with contractors and client representatives to ensure compliance with permits and environmental protection plans. It also involves participating as a Resource Specialist in various environmental assessments and acting as Field Lead for these assignments. Mentorship of junior staff is a key component, as is the ability to work in remote locations and challenging conditions. Physical demands include carrying field equipment up to 30 lbs.
