The Environmental Manager is responsible for ensuring the location meets its environmental permit compliance responsibilities, manages the plant's pollution control scrubber and waste water operations, ensures boiler operations are compliant with state and company policy, and improves the facility's environmental performance within the community. This role involves maintaining compliance with all Company, State, or Federal OSHA Safety Policies and Practices, and providing supervision to production operators regarding safe boiler operations, wastewater treatment, and air treatment equipment. The manager will lead, train, and implement plant Standard Operating Procedures for air pollution control equipment, steam generation equipment, and wastewater pretreatment, lagoon operations, and Land Application Systems. Responsibilities include developing and implementing CIP schedules for scrubbers, collecting and analyzing daily environmental data to make operating recommendations, and preparing environmental permit-related submittals. The role ensures the facility operates within the Company's environmental policies and requires proficiency in developing Standard Operating Procedures for staff and contractors. The Environmental Manager must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to work off-shift hours as needed. This position also involves forecasting needs, sourcing through competitive bids, and maintaining spare parts inventory, as well as providing technical guidance in wastewater lagoons, VOC scrubbers, and land application systems. Evaluating equipment data sheets for performance decisions and training new personnel on safety procedures are also key aspects of the role. All other duties as assigned.
