About The Position

Under direct supervision, performs administrative tasks, sample kit preparation and laboratory sample coordination, writing reports and procedures, interfacing with internal and external clients, and managing data through the Environmental Laboratory. Performs administrative and technical tasks as needed to fulfill overall job requirements depending upon the specific assignment. These may include: Supply ordering (inventory and ordering for laboratory and specific internal areas), performing analytical laboratory QA/QC activities, records maintenance, reviewing data packages, and preparing technical reports. Monitoring and reporting on analytical performance. Performs sample preparation/shipping in support of Environmental Services programs, process waste disposal, records sample collection information; properly package, preserve, and transport samples under existing sampling plans, SOP, and instructions. Interfaces with Columbia Generating Stations and external clients for problem resolution. This includes sample receipt, log-in, sample preservation, generation of log-in reports, generation of client analytical reports, and report distribution.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of experience working in an analytical laboratory utilizing instrumental, analytical, and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Customer service/project management experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs sample coordination to include Sample Receiving (kit preparation, sample pickup, and login), Sample Shipping (sample preparation and shipping), and Sample Reporting (Create and issue reports to clients/ regulatory, Invoicing, and main point of contact for laboratory).
  • Performs administrative and technical tasks as needed to fulfill overall job requirements depending upon the specific assignment.
