About The Position

TRC is seeking motivated and diverse Environmental Interns for its Summer 2027 intern program in the New York, NY office. This is a paid, full-time position anticipated to run from June through August 2027, with flexible dates. The role may transition into a full-time position after graduation. The intern works under Project Managers and Team Leaders and partners with engineers, scientists, and technologists. Work is approximately 75% office-based and 25% fieldwork at project sites, supporting environmental investigation and remediation projects. The listed salary range is USD $20.00–$28.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Pursuing an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Time-management skills and willingness to take on new tasks and do some fieldwork.
Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Organized, willing to learn and grow, and interested in fieldwork.

Nice To Haves

OSHA 40-hour safety training or 30-hour OSHA safety training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Support environmental investigation and remediation projects through fieldwork, environmental sampling, and reporting.
Assist with soil, groundwater, air, and soil vapor sampling.
Support remedial activities and routine site visits.
Assist with interpreting environmental data and preparing technical reports and figures.
Document findings in accordance with applicable regulations and standard operating procedures.
Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
