About The Position

Mi-Tech Services, Inc. has an opening for a full-time on-site Environmental Inspector at a project site in Ozaukee County (SE Wisconsin). An Environmental Technician is responsible for supporting environmental compliance and monitoring efforts related to groundwater, storm water, landfills and other natural resources. Critical for success is the ability to be self-motivated, a good problem solver, detail-oriented, follow pre-established guidelines and instructions, and work independently to meet strict deadlines. An Environmental Inspector will maintain and promote a strong health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) culture for all employees, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to comply with HSEQ policies, procedures, regulations, and continual improvement objectives. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and risks with a commitment to correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe or nonconforming actions or conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science (e.g. water resources, natural resource management, soil resources, hydrology, chemistry, geology, etc.)
  • 0-2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Able to walk at least 1/2 mile and work in all weather conditions
  • 40-hour HazWoper certification, or the ability to obtain.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working around and on a construction site preferred
