Then Hampton and Peninsula Health District is looking for you! We are looking for an Environmental Health Supervisor to manage and mentor our Hampton EH team. In this role, you will provide technical guidance, oversee the food safety and inspection program, and support enforcement activities. You will also train new staff across diverse program areas—from rabies investigations to marina, campground, hotel, and swimming pool inspections—while coordinating workloads and fostering professional growth. Requirements

  • Knowledge of technical and operational aspects of environmental health programs
  • Experience providing effective supervision and leadership of professional and technical staff
  • Experience evaluating programmatic needs assessments, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of service delivery
  • Experience identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Strong communication skills, to include communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and conveying verbal information clearly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the administration of public environmental health programs
  • Environmental Health Specialist Senior certifications are preferred
  • Environmental Health Technical Specialist certifications are preferred
