This position is for an ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST, also referred to as a CHILD CARE LICENSING SPECIALIST. The role involves planning and coordinating inspections for assigned caseloads of Children’s Centers and Family Child Care Homes, reviewing applications, investigating complaints, and conducting enforcement actions. The specialist will also be responsible for reporting allegations of child abuse or neglect, organizing training and consultations for childcare providers, and providing technical assistance to improve care quality. Data collection, reporting, and maintaining up-to-date unit databases are key aspects of the role. The position requires attending trainings to maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills, participating in public health programs, and completing all required Florida Department of Health training. Collaboration with supervisors and team members is essential to achieve program goals.
