About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all applicable environmental, health & safety laws and regulations. This position plays a critical role in protecting the health and safety of employees, as well as the general public and the environment.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred with a major in chemistry or environmental services or an equivalent amount of experience working within PCB manufacturing or a closely related industry.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people is essential.
  • Ability to communicate orally with board of directors, customers, vendors, shareholders, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial.
  • Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.
  • Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of technical problems.
  • Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required.
  • Able to understand and utilize financial reports and legal documents to conduct business.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technical or manager position would be helpful.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and evaluating potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and training employees on proper safety procedures.
  • Evaluating, assessing and selecting training programs to prepare for a variety of situations related to the environment, health & safety.
  • Manages all environmental concerns including EPA and City regulations.
  • Performs safety inspections, manages safety meetings and OSHA reporting.
