Classified as: Environmental Health and Safety Professional I. This is a full-time temporary position available on or after October 12, 2026, for Safety and Risk Management. The appointment will be for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of reappointment and/or becoming permanent based on budget, department needs, and job performance. This position's responsibilities are carried out under direct supervision. The incumbent is responsible for performing entry-level professional duties in support of environmental health and safety (EHS) programs within the Department of Safety & Risk Management. Responsibilities include supporting the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, conducting routine inspections, assisting with hazard and risk assessments, supporting incident investigations, maintaining compliance records, collecting and compiling EHS data, assisting with safety training and outreach activities, and applying established federal, state, CSU, and university EHS regulations, policies, and procedures. The incumbent collaborates with campus departments and assists senior EHS professionals in promoting regulatory compliance and a safe and healthy learning and work environment. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and compliance with established policies and procedures.
