About The Position

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the Milwaukee, WI site by coordinating and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs in alignment with Rockwell Automation standards and regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with manufacturing, research, and workplace services teams to support safe operations, manage contractor safety, lead site-level EHS initiatives, and investigate incidents. The EHS Specialist also supports project execution, compliance reporting, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement efforts across the campus. You will work onsite in Milwaukee, WI and will report to the EHS Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.

  • Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Safety, Environmental Sciences or Engineering, or similar program.
  • Professional Safety / Environmental Certifications (CSP, CIH, REM)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, DOT, WDNR, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented style are deemed important for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Rockwell Automation EHS programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Coordinate contractor safety documentation and support EHS oversight for site and campus projects.
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to support audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
  • Implement site-level EHS procedures and ensure accountability for compliance.
  • Provide technical EHS support for projects, processes, and site operations.
  • Manage EHS training programs, including hazard-based training, training matrix maintenance, and record tracking.
  • Maintain and execute emergency response plans, including annual evacuation drills.
  • Investigate injuries, illnesses, and incidents; report metrics and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and ensure appropriate PPE and control measures are in place.
  • Support fire safety systems, inspections, and coordination with fire safety personnel.
  • Perform internal EHS audits and support EHS performance assessments.
  • Manage environmental data reporting and support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ongoing environmental and safety management systems, including ISO 14001 certification.
